Do your body and brain seem to play by different rules?

Join Koala and Circe for an evening exploring hypermobility, neurodivergence and how they can intersect. We’ll bring together a therapist-led conversation, time to share experiences and accessible mat Pilates in a first-time-friendly space where you can learn, connect and move in a way that works for you.

What is hypermobility?

Hypermobility means your joints move beyond the usual range. For some people, it causes no problems. For others, it can bring pain, fatigue, joint instability or other challenges in everyday life.

Everyone’s experience is different. We’re bringing people together to explore how hypermobility affects daily life and its possible connections with neurodivergence.

About the session

  1. Arrive and settle in

We’ll start by getting comfortable, meeting the group and talking through what to expect.

You’ll have space to understand the format and explore options for taking part.

  2. Understand the connection

A short therapist-led introduction with Circe explores hypermobility and its connection with neurodivergence.

We’ll learn, reflect and consider how these experiences can show up in everyday life.

  3. Talk it through

We’ll use prompts for an interactive conversation, with time to ask questions and share experiences.

Contribute as much or as little as you’d like – listening is participation too.

  4. Move on the mat

We’ll finish with accessible mat Pilates, with adaptations for hypermobile bodies.

Take breaks, change a movement or sit one out whenever you need to. There’s no pressure to push through or keep up with anyone else.

Who is this for?

This event is for women and non-binary people interested in the connection between hypermobility and neurodivergence.

You might have a hypermobility diagnosis, identify as neurodivergent, be exploring these experiences yourself or simply want to understand the connection better. You don’t need to have every answer or fit neatly into a category to be part of the conversation.

No previous Pilates experience is needed.

Before we meet

Alexandra Sanson

Pilates instructor, Sanson Pilates

I’m a Level 3 mat Pilates instructor with Body Control Pilates, and I have hypermobile EDS. Years of gymnastics and dance first drew me to movement; Pilates later helped me manage joint pain and stay connected to the activities I enjoy. My classes bring together breath, strength, control and coordination, with room to move in a way that works for you.
